Terms

1. Who provides the service

Sort My Thoughts is operated by Matti Venghaus, Kiefholz 5, 44287 Dortmund, Germany (Sole trader (Einzelunternehmer), no commercial register entry). Contact: smt.sortmy@gmail.com. See the Imprint for full details.

2. What the service does

Sort My Thoughts takes text or voice input and organizes it into to-dos and ideas using an AI model. The AI is an organizer, not an author: it structures what you wrote. It can still make mistakes, so do not rely on it for anything safety-critical, medical, legal or financial. You are responsible for checking the result before you act on it.

3. Your account

You need an account to use the app. The contract is concluded when you complete registration and we activate your account. Keep your login credentials to yourself. You must be at least 16 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian.

4. Your content

Your thoughts, to-dos and ideas stay yours. We only process them to run the service for you. We do not sell them, use them for advertising, or use them to train AI models.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use the service to break the law, to store other people's data without a legal basis, or to attack, overload or reverse-engineer the service. Automated bulk usage is limited to protect the service.

6. Plans and billing

Free includes 20 AI sortings per month. Plus is EUR 1.99 per month and includes 150 AI sortings and 60 voice inputs per month. Premium is EUR 4.99 per month and includes 600 AI sortings and 240 voice inputs per month, plus Idea Matching; usage above these amounts is subject to the plan's fair-use limits. Prices include VAT where applicable; the exact tax is shown at checkout.

You can also buy one-off top-up credit packs for additional AI sortings and voice inputs. Bought credits do not expire and are only used once your plan's monthly allowance for that month is used up.

Paid plans renew monthly until cancelled. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your card details.

7. Cancellation

You can cancel at any time from Settings. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, then reverts to Free. Your data is not deleted when a plan ends.

8. Right of withdrawal for consumers — Widerrufsrecht für Verbraucher

If you are a consumer in the EU, you have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving a reason. The withdrawal period is 14 days from the day the contract is concluded. To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us of your decision by an unambiguous statement (e.g. a letter or email) to smt.sortmy@gmail.com about your decision to withdraw from this contract.

Special note on early loss of the right of withdrawal for digital content: because Sort My Thoughts is digital content not supplied on a tangible medium and is made available to you immediately, you expressly agree at checkout (a) that we begin performance of the contract before the withdrawal period has expired, and (b) that, by giving this consent and acknowledging the loss of your right of withdrawal, you lose your right of withdrawal once we have begun performance (§ 356 Abs. 5 BGB).

If you have not given this consent, or use the service on a free plan only, the statutory right of withdrawal described above applies without restriction. If you withdraw from this contract in time, we will reimburse any payments already received for the withdrawn part of the service.

9. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may change features and will give reasonable notice of material changes to paid plans.

10. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for intent, gross negligence, or injury to life, body or health. Beyond that, liability is limited to foreseeable damage typical for this kind of contract.

11. Ending the agreement

You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which erases your content. We may suspend or end accounts that seriously or repeatedly breach these terms.

12. Governing law

The law of the operator's country applies, without depriving consumers of the protection of mandatory rules of their country of residence.
